Where shall we begin, the hot looking covers, the plot, the interwoven writing skills of the author... These 3 books gave me life and had be hooked for an entire weekend reading non-stop from one to the other, breathing life into these characters like they were in real life standing in front of me playing out their stories.
So, let us begin with book one! My did I get hooked from the beginning; book 1 takes us into the lives of Devin and Alyssa. This is where we learn that Alyssa and her sisters have highly active imaginations as they continuously each write a sexual fantasy diary, filling it with all sorts of naughty thoughts and endlessly hopeful encounters. This year as they, host their annual fantasy quest she finds that hers are all about her sexy and intrinsically bad for her boss. Unbeknown to her, he is not human and has the most incredible crush and longing for her that would ruin her for any other, who deems to take his place in her life.
Think about the ultimate fantasy, the one where your boss turns out to be just as hot for you as you are for them, just wow! Yes, the plot and romance is there for all the feast but the twist with the paranormal element of this story is just divine, it takes us to this fantasy place and lets us live through these characters as if we were part of them. The layers in which Siren has written these books have them feeling like they are not 3 separate entities but one continuous flow of action love, sacrifice and challenges.
As the first book introduces us to these characters they also slowly reveal each characters connection to each other and their interdependence for the greater good to make some tough decisions on whether they stay together or divide and walk away from their love.
From the 1st instalment to the 2nd, we then get more acquainted with Alyssa's sisters and the newfound brotherhood of the brothers of calamity. Here we learn of the fine line between love and hate with Ashley and Kelan. Their story is not as sweet as Alyssa and Devin. Ashley is a stressed-out agony aunt for sexual fantasies column, that she writes for her.
Ashley also thinks that for once she wants some normalcy, well as we read on with this part of the story, both her and us readers realise this is indeed a fantasy as she is far from having a normal life much less Christmas, as destiny intervenes and shatters that wish. Here the action between all the books gets intense as their lives are no longer their own, and surviving is the only option.
These books kept me on my toes and just on the tip of my seat, reading to see how these stories enfold, plot and drive for connection and character development was amazing, and driving us readers to want more of this word play and intricate world Siren has built. These books helped me enjoy paranormal romance even more as it held steadfast to what this genre is all about.
Let's continue through to book 3. Siren, you gave the first two but now book 3, I had to pace myself, hoping upon hope that surely the ending will be satisfying that I would not need more. Yet, here I am wanting just that bit more. Like I said the 3rd instalment, dragged to another intense connection between the sister’s best friend Tinsley and the final brother of calamity Jackson.
Tinsley was the one thing that was known at that point that would be able to kill the brothers, or so they thought. As we dive into their love story and attraction to each other we learn the vital parts of what the brothers mean to the world and the part the play in its destruction. However, the biggest twist was not the one that enfold at the middle of this story, to tell it would leave you with the full plot, so instead I say this, have a read and when you get to book 3 let me know what you really think of this unexpected outcome.
For each brother who finds his mate, they have a great fight to keep her safe and secure, whilst understanding their purpose for the future of the world and their own lives, and that of their life partners. With the raunchy
I would recommend this series and I am hoping we get perhaps the story of the last sister and her adventure into finding love. Readers have fun with this one, until next time...
